MAP (Minimum Advertised Price) is a unilateral policy set by a brand or manufacturer specifying the lowest price at which authorized resellers may publicly advertise their products. MAP violations can result in loss of authorized dealer status or termination of wholesale agreements.
MAP differs from a price floor in that it governs advertised price — not necessarily the transactional price at checkout. However, for online marketplaces, the listed price and the checkout price are typically the same, making MAP effectively a floor in practice.
